Plain-language terms for using Skip Clean. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. What Skip Clean is

Skip Clean is a free web-based budget and debt tracker. It helps you organize debts, bills, subscriptions, income, and savings goals, and plan payoffs. The service is provided "as is" — we work hard to keep it reliable, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

2. Not financial advice

Skip Clean is an organizational tool, not a financial advisor. Payoff dates, interest estimates, and projections are simplified estimates for planning purposes — not professional financial, tax, or legal advice. For big decisions, talk to a qualified professional.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to use Skip Clean.
• You're responsible for keeping your password and recovery code safe, and for activity under your account.
• Important: because your data is encrypted with keys derived from your password, we cannot reset your password for you. If you lose both your password and your recovery code, your data is permanently unrecoverable. Store your recovery code somewhere safe.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't:

• Use Skip Clean for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
• Try to break into, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service, or scrape it in bulk.
• Share your account in ways that abuse the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

5. Free service

Skip Clean is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you clearly before anything costs money — nothing will ever be charged without your explicit agreement.

6. Your data

You own your data. Our handling of it is described in the Privacy Policy. You can export what's visible in the app and you can permanently delete your account (and all server-side data) anytime via Settings → Danger zone.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skip Clean is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including, without limitation, financial decisions made using the app's estimates. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (which, for a free account, is zero).

8. Changes to the service or terms

We may update the service or these terms as Skip Clean evolves. If we make material changes to the terms, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the laws of Canada applicable there.
